• A giraffe sticks out a very, very long tongue, which is wrapped lightly around a human baby wearing a diaper. The two creatures look at one another, clearly confused about the situation.
    • A girl sprays some substance onto herself from an aerosol can. Small insects buzz nearby emitting question marks, suddenly unable to locate the girl.

    Giraffes, Babies, and Repellant... Oh, My!

    These two illustrations appeared alongside a feature in the Courier's C Magazine Spring 2011 issue that, as far as I can recall, revolved around funny anecdotes or tips involving the subjects of said illustrations. Beyond that, it's as much a mystery to me as to you why that baby is using a giraffe tongue as a bouncy-thing.

    This work originally appeared in the Cardinal Courier, the award-winning student-run newspaper at St. John Fisher College, between 2007 and 2011.
